The moor frog is a fascinating story in itself. It is one of around 4,000 different frog species known to mankind. There are frogs everywhere on the globe \u2013 except Antarctica \u2013 and what is so beautiful about these creatures is that they serve as perfect \u201cbarometers\u201d for the health of our environment. If the frogs seem to be thriving, it is a good sign. If not, we should be alarmed.<\/p>\n

The toxic compounds that a frog gets exposed to are absorbed in its skin and stored in its fatty tissue. Some toxins have the potential to cause metabolic disruptions and even malformations and cancer in the frogs. The frogs, to put it differently, are our \u201ceyes\u201d when it comes to spotting trouble ahead.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/section>
